GW stuff

September 27, 2004, 9:31 AM

Well ok. We'll start out with Lee work stuff.

You know how he got demoted, basically. From Metro Manager to this other job, bunker steward. That was supposed to merge into Regional Events Coordinator. Anyway, this whole thing went down two months ago. The Bunker Steward was a job created two months ago.

He was told yesterday Games Workshop is phasing out the Bunker Steward and Lee gets to be the Bunker Store manager. Actually another demotion. At least with the bunker steward, he was kind of off to the side and now he's down yet another rung.

His pay right now stays the same.

Not the job Lee signed up to do. At all.

AND the icing on the cake is now he is directly under the dude he was actually more or less in-line with. And in actuality, he reported to Lee. This would be fine, aside from the fact that this dude has gone from wanting family time to a full 360, putting himself and GW first above all else. In my opinion, he's being really cocky too. He made the comment to Lee that "D (the new guy) is the God of GW and I'm the demigod."

"Please tell me he really didn't say that."

"Oh, he said it."

Total overinflation of ego. Which is typical for the company. He's got a wife and two kids and he leaves his wife to deal with it all and she's totally got her hands full. A month ago he had made a comment about how his dad was never around and he didn't want that for his kids. And now he's doing it. For GW? My friend said it's like the dudes that work their drink the water and suddenly have no sense.

I said I think these guys were geeky kids and teenagers who found a place where they're accepted and that carries over into adulthood. Reality? Where is it?
