Nana and stuff

June 03, 2006, 9:46 AM

Boo is still quite bothered that she doesn't get to see Nana. She's really thinking about this. We don't talk about it much in front of her and she brings it up. We tell her it's ok to cry and be sad.

She just brings it up seemingly out of nowhere.

I had a thought though. Lee had taken a picture of his mom sleeping on her lounge. She was sleeping. I showed Boo and Boo said "Is she sleeping regular?" I told her yes, she's just tired, but she's ok and resting in this picture.

Boo said:

"Let's PRINT IT! I want to put it on my wall so I don't forget!"

We printed it and I put it in a frame. She chose the place. She was very excited and smiling. It seemed to make her feel a lot better. She is very put out that she doesn't get to see Nana.

That's not bad or good, it just is. She can feel that way. She doesn't care, nor do the girls.

I totally forgot that a day or two before Mabel died, the girls wanted to see her. They brought her pictures and sort of made a shrine for her. Mabel wouldn't wake up, would say some things that we couldn't understand. But in their eyes, there was no fear. Only caring and no fear and they weren't bothered. At this point, Mabel was making a gurgling sound and that didn't bother them.

That's not what the girls talk about when they mention Mabel. They talk about her little house and her sitting at her chair in the kitchen.

Anyway, bothered you say?

Sure. Everyone has their "process". This is mine.

Boo was wanting lots of attention this morning and I redirected her to her art table. Cleaning it up and then cleaning her room which incluced hanging the Nana "sleeping regular" picture.
